It’s been close to 3 weeks now since my novel Fracture Point got published. And, for a first month, it hasn’t done too poorly. So what am I doing now? Well, first thing’s first: gotta work on the Fracture Point Series, book 3 (first draft), seeing as how book 2 (first draft) is ready. But, beyond just being a novelist and writing, at the beginning of this year (2017) I had another goal in mind: Learn to code.

How you ask? As in, how am I learning to code/program? The answer lies in Udacity. More specifically, since I’m someone who has NO BACKGROUND in computer science, I’m taking their Intro to Programming Nanodegree program. Anyone who had formal education in computer science, or learned how to code/program in a classroom, is probably going to chuckle at the notion (at least I think they will)… but I don’t. Just like with getting a novel from first-draft to publishing it, this is something I believe I can do – given enough time and effort. Is it easy? No (not for me, anyway, everyone has a different definition of “easy” in my experience).
Once I’m done with the intro course, I’m not a 100% sure what to pursue after that, but I don’t have to make that decision right now… and that’s a good thing. Alongside learning how to program, I’m also completing a certification course in Human Resources, so that’s kinda fun.
At this moment in my life, I guess everything seems to be covered in a fog. I’m not even a 100% sure what direction to head out into. So much of my effort had been focused on getting the book out there that now that it’s done… it’s hard to even figure out what comes next. Listlessness comes easily, I guess.
Anyway, just wanted to write something on here.
