NaNoWriMo, aftermath, and burnout

So, I didn’t “win” NaNoWriMo. Let’s just get that over with. I realize that I haven’t posted much of anything on this website either. But, I’m working on rectifying that.

Anyway, I attempted NaNoWriMo while traveling across India. Specifically a state called Goa (beautiful place, if you can visit it, pease do!) and that’s probably why I didn’t win. While traveling inspires many writers, I don’t seem to be one of them. I was too busy eating seafood and enjoying the beaches instead of focusing on my writing.

What I did end up with was an 11,000 word manuscript that is the beginnings of a sequel to my first book: Fracture Point. Like I said, I didn’t win… but I’ll take what I can get. That being said, i’ve decided to take the month of December off. No writing. I’m not even going to bother thinking about writing this month. I’ll resume my writing with the dawn of the new year.

Anyway, happy [insert whatever doesn’t offend you here].

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go grab a drink.
